2. Weigh the weight: Compared with cast iron bearing seats and cast steel bearing seats of the same volume, cast iron is lighter in weight.
3. Knocking method: Use a hammer to gently tap the end face of the bearing seat. If it makes a crisp sound, it is a cast steel bearing seat; if it makes a dull sound, it is a cast iron bearing seat.
4. Test the hardness: The hardness of cast iron is relatively low. You can find a less obvious place on the bearing seat and lightly scratch it with a hard object such as a knife or screwdriver. If obvious marks can be scratched, it is a cast iron bearing seat; If there are no traces left, it is a cast steel bearing seat.
