The size of the axial clearance is related to the arrangement of the bearings during installation, the distance between the bearings, the material of the shaft and the bearing seat, and can be determined according to the working conditions.
In order to adjust the clearance of tapered bearings under high load and high speed, the influence of temperature rise on axial clearance must be considered, and the amount of clearance reduction caused by temperature rise must be estimated. In other words, the axial clearance should be adjusted appropriately.
For tapered bearings with low speed and low vibration, it is advisable to install them without clearance or with preload. The purpose is to make the rollers and raceways of tapered bearings in good contact, distribute the load evenly, and prevent the rollers and raceways from being damaged by vibration and impact. After adjustment, check the axial clearance with a dial gauge.
Installation of four-row tapered bearings (installation of roller bearings):
1. There is usually a gap between the inner ring of the four-row tapered bearing and the roll neck. When installing, first install the bearing into the bearing housing, and then install the bearing housing into the journal.
2. The bearing box hole of the four-row outer ring tapered bearing also adopts dynamic fit, firstly put the outer ring A into the bearing box. Character symbols are printed on the outer ring, inner ring and inner and outer spacers when leaving the factory. When installing, it must be installed in the bearing housing in the order of words and symbols. They cannot be interchanged arbitrarily to prevent changes in the bearing clearance.
3. After all parts are installed in the bearing seat, the inner ring and the inner spacer, and the outer ring and the outer spacer are axially close.
4. Measure the width of the gap between the end face of the outer ring and the cover plate of the bearing box to determine the thickness of the corresponding gasket. Multiple seal bearings are marked with the suffix code XRS.
